CEI Partners with the Kansas System of Care to Host the Youth Mental Health Awareness Art Competition.

In May, the Community Engagement Institute (CEI) partnered with the Kansas System of Care to host an art competition raising awareness for youth mental health in Kansas. Youth from across Kansas submitted original art in a variety of media, including everything from poetry to sculpture to graphite.

This art was then displayed in the Labor Party building in Wichita, KS for Final Friday on May 25th. The Labor Party donated their space and College Hill Creamery brought their amazing ice cream and coffee to share with attendees. There was also a live band that volunteered to serenade gallery attendees. For two hours, Kansans filtered in and out of the venue, enjoying ice cream, getting their faces painted, making art of their own, and viewing the art of Kansas youth.

This art collection will also be on display in Garden City, KS from August 3rd-9th at the Central Cup Coffee House. There will be an opening reception at August 3rd from 4pm-6pm.
