CEI's Prevention Initiatives and Strategic Communication Initiatives Work Together to Create A Suicide Prevention Short Film.

Every September there is an opportunity to raise awareness around suicide prevention, mental health, and ensure that tools for a healthy, happy life are readily available for everyone. The Community Engagement Institute’s Strategic Communication Initiatives was honored to create Kansas’ 2018 Suicide Prevention PSA for the Kansas Prevention Collaborative.

This suicide prevention PSA was made possible by the volunteers who gave of their time, energy, and creativity to ensure that it represented the experiences of many. It is a reminder to take a moment to check on each other, to notice one another’s struggles, and to go out of our way to make one another feel seen.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or chat with someone at suicidepreventionlifeline.org/chat. You can also text “Kansas” to 741-741 to connect with the Crisis Text Line. LGBTQ youth can also contact The Trevor Project at 1-866-488-7386 or chat at thetrevorproject.org/get-help-now.

You matter. Your experiences matter. You are not alone.
