CEI Staff Chosen for the 2021 National Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health Cohort.

The Community Engagement Institute (CEI) is excited to announce that Alissa Rankin, MPH, CHES, has been selected for the 2021 cohort of the National Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health (NLAPH). This chosen team is led by Kansas State University’s Health and Human Sciences and Research Extension faculty and includes members from the Kansas Community Health Worker Coalition. Taking part in this endeavor will have Alissa, a Public Health Project Manager for the Center for Public Health Initiatives, participating in a year-long adventure involving national health leaders, leadership assessment, coaching, and planning. These endeavors also help launch a community health project within Kansas.

“I’m looking forward to learning new strategies and tools to improve our public health practice to work collectively to advance the Community Health Worker (CHW) workforce in Kansas,” said Rankin. “CHWs work to achieve health equity through education, empowerment, and advocacy, envisioning health equity for all. I hope to take the competencies that I learn through the program to encourage leadership among Community Health Workers in Kansas.”
